X-Arcade with Raspberry Pi 2 (Retropie)

Since my first project with Raspberry Pi Arcade with an Old 15Khz Arcade Monitorthere was a great evolution in this tiny computer. Today it allow us to emulate games from the Vectrex to Playstation 1 among others.

Taking into account the size of the Raspberry Pi, it is possible to integrate it in various applications.

I had an idea that involved an X-Arcade with a PC dedicated to running the largest number platforms possible and that would most likely work with Hyperspin frontend.
Great ideia, aside the fact of not being very practical to walk around with a PC and an X-Arcade back and forth whenever we wanted to play. Although you can find on the internet some projects of this kind ,the Raspberry Pi 2 came to make things easier and practical.

Therefore, I decided to integrate the Raspberry Pi virtually ignoring the entire X-Arcade system. I used an I-Pac to interface with the control panel by connecting the Raspberry Pi’s USB .

I also assembled a power switch and a USB plug to the exterior of the X-Arcade, so it is possible to connect a keyboard, a mouse or any other necessary peripheral.

I used an entry that was already in the X-Arcade for the Raspberry Pi HDMI output and headphones phones, avoiding any more “damage” on the box.

And … say hello to this baby! Raspberry Pi 2 meets X-Arcade and allows you to play more than 55 platforms such as Nintendo Game Boy, Commodore Amiga, Sega Megadrive, ZXSpectrum and 50.000 games! If you don’t have enough space for an arcade, this is a cool way to play all your favorite retro games!

Here is a short video demonstration of the system, hope you like it!
